Montréal-Python 46: Frontière Électronique

C'est avec un immense plaisir qu'on vous invite à cette 46e édition de nos rencontres mensuelles.

Pour l'occasion, nous vous présenterons deux OS, l'un pour les téléphones, le fameux Firefox OS que viendra nous présenter Frédéric Harper de Mozilla. L'autre est ArkOS pour le Raspberry Pi, écrit en Python, que nous présentera Jacob Cook.

Par la suite, en poursuivant l'idée du panel sur Python3 de notre dernière rencontre, Rory Geoghegan de chez Ecometrica viendra nous éclairer sur Unicode en Python 2 et 3.

Notre soirée commencera bien sûr par quelques présentations éclairs. Davin Baragiotta de chez Savoir-Faire Linux nous présentera comment déployer une application sur Heroku pour faire suite à l'atelier Heroku 101 présenté à PyCon. George Peristakis nous présentera aussi ses réflexion sur la carrière moderne de développeur et la situation de l'emploi dans ce domaine.

Jacob Cook - ArkOS arkOS is an operating system and front-end software stack dedicated to setting up easy self-hosted servers on inexpensive hardware like the Raspberry Pi. arkOS' flagship tool Genesis manages all aspects of a system and its software, and is based entirely in Python. Lead programmer Jacob Cook will walk through the software and its frameworks, how they work, and why self-hosting in principle is becoming more and more important.
Rory Geoghegan: Unicode is ∂© in python 2, but way better in python 3 This talk will try to explain the decisions about encoding and unicode in python 2 and the splitting of strings in python 3 into bytes and unicode strings.
