English Edition at Concordia University!

You only have a vague intuition about Python being something else than a kind of snake or a British humorists group? You know Pythonistas who spoke to you with enthusiasm about their favorite programming language but you never really dived in because... well, yes... you know...

It's time for action!

Montréal-Python invites you to its basic introduction workshop to programming in Python. It's the English edition of the workshop we've held in UQAM in september. No specific knowledge of Python is required, this workshop welcomes all newcomers (we assume you know a bit on programming, e.g.: you know what a variable is).

At the end of this workshop, you'll have learned to:

  • explore by yourself Python's potential through experimentation and introspection in the interpretor
  • master the basic notions : types, fonctions, conditionnals, iterations...
  • write a script
  • import Python's power

The complete presentation material will be published here soon.

The workshop will be:

Bring your laptop or pair up with someone else.

You'll need Python running on your computer. It's also recommended to have IPython installed.

Generally speaking, if you want to have fun with the code in Montréal-Python workshops without loosing your time with configuring your machine and if you want a guaranteed support by the technical assistants, do yourself a favor and get a developer workstation on Ubuntu by following these simple steps : http://bit.ly/18eiMIO

If you need help to setup your development environment, we'll be there to help before the workshop, starting at 5:15 PM.

30 places are available, register on : https://www.eventbrite.com/event/8815002911

See you Thursday!
